The City has received an offer to purchase the property described above. The property is classified as ‘transitional dispose’ and ‘buildable’. According to the adopted policy of March 14, 2016, the property should be priced at the appraised value or the amount most recently established by the Pottawattamie County Assessor. The applicant has offered $2,500.00.
The City has owned the property since to 2008. The assessed value of the land in tax year 2007 was $10,031.
The applicant states he would like to add landscaping and trees to enhance the curb appeal of the house that he owns next to the lot. He also indicates that in the future he may want to add a detached garage.
The City has incurred $748.50 in mowing costs for this property. Additional costs will be provided as they are made available.
The Building Division has stated the property is located in an ‘AH’ flood zone and the floodplain regulations will be applicable for any alteration and/or additions on the property.
