The Steven Road West project is the final project associated with the East Beltway. The project will construct a new east-west roadway from Norwood Court to State Orchard Road. The continuity for the local transportation system will support future land development, increases the capacity of existing roads to accommodate traffic demands and improves emergency access.
To remain in compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, trees cannot be removed during the period from April 1st through September 30th. If the trees are not removed over the winter, the roadway project will be delayed a year. Clearing the trees now allows for the roadway grading to begin immediately after award and most of the roadway can then be constructed in 2023. The roadway project is scheduled for a March 2023 letting.
The project will be funded with Local Option Sales Tax funds.
The project is scheduled to occur during February and March of 2023.
