Background/Discussion
The City Council approved $345,000 in funding for the Peterson Park Playground Upgrade in the FY 23 CIP. The improvements include a new play structure, swings, safety surfacing, and small plaza.
The current play structure was installed in 1997 and neighbors have expressed interest in replacing the structure with an updated structure that offers more play interest for the neighborhood kids.
The project budget of $345,000 includes design fees, which are $26,400, which leaves $318,600 for construction. The current cost opinion has the probable construction cost at $311,304, which is within the project budget.
Due to the time of year and current timelines for receiving play equipment, the construction of the playground will be scheduled for the spring of 2023.
