MidAmerican Energy Company is installing fiber optic cable to support communications with their existing and future infrastructure throughout western Iowa.
MidAmerican Energy Company has installed a fiber optic line and is proposing a permanent easement for the area of the conduit and cable. The route of the installation includes the eastern portion of the City-owned parcel where the Water Pollution Control Plant is located.
The perpetual, non-exclusive easement allows MidAmerican Energy Company to construct, reconstruct, operate, maintain, replace or remove underground fiber optic conduits, wires and cables for the transmission and distribution of communication and electrical controls, including other reasonably necessary equipment, under the surface of the ground, together with the right of ingress and egress to and from the same, and all the rights and privileges incident and necessary to the enjoyment of this easement.
The easement is approximately 2,046 feet in length and 10 feet in width containing 20,461 square feet, or 0.470 acres.
MidAmerican Energy Company will submit a payment of $1,000 for acquisition of the easement.
