Background/Discussion
The Council Bluffs Carnegie Free Public Library was renovated in 2002 and the Union Pacific Railroad Museum has occupied the building since May of 2003. The boiler and chiller have reached the end of the industry’s standard life expectancy for these types of equipment.
Replacement of this equipment will reduce energy costs and will provide a more reliable environment for the Union Pacific’s Historical Collection.
The estimated cost of this project is $199,685.
The project was included in the FY20 CIP with funding from the General Fund.
